Mason Jar Pin Cushion DIY

One of my latest projects was a much need pin cushion.

I could have opt for the standard tomato pin cushion but that wasn’t sassy enough for me. So at first I thought I wanted a dress form pin cushion but when I saw this idea on Pinterest, I had to make my own.

To make your own you will need a mason jar (any size you prefer), fabric, cotton, scissors, E6000 glue, and a round plate of sorts for cutting out a circle from your fabric. I used a candle holder plate for convenience. The fabric I ended up buying was not what I was picturing in my head. I wanted something less bulky and more of the snow leopard print but I figured I was being too particular at this point and pushing it. So I went ahead and got the fleece blanket material making it work by using a little extra glue.

Only thing I would do differently is pull the cotton balls apart a little. Other than that I love it especially since I can store little knick knacks inside the jar. My next pin cushion project will be one for my wrist so stay tuned for that.
